2 Month Check Up

On Thursday we took Andrew to the doctor. We found out he now weighs 10 lbs. 6 oz. and is 22 inches long. He is a growing boy. It was also time for his immunizations. Ouch, no fun. He really did not like getting the shots. He had to have three in all. He cried after the first one, and then screamed at the top of his lungs for the other two. It was so hard to watch. Afterward, I tried to get him to eat to help calm him down. It took him a minute or two before he stopped crying enough to get him to eat. Then he would only do a couple of sucks and then come off and cry a little bit, then eat some more and then cry again. It was like he would stop to say, "It hurts" and then "It really, really hurts." He is so cute, even when crying. But I am not looking forward to going in again in a couple of months.

Sleep, sweet sleep

Andrew has been sleeping better and better. This week one night he slept for six hours, and then six and a half hours. Last night Andy slept for almost eight hours straight. We hope he continues to sleep so well. It felt so nice to get such a long stretch of sleep.

First Camping Trip

Last weekend we went camping near Lincoln City, Oregon for the annual family reunion with my mom's sisters and their families. One of the days we were there we went to the beach. It was cold, only in the low 60s (notice we are wearing sweatshirts). Uncle Justin had fun building a sand castle. While we were at the beach we just sat and watched the waves and walked down to the water. Micah had fun playing with the sand. We ended up not staying very long because it was cold. After the beach we went back to camp and took a nap.
While we were camping we had fun visiting with our family and catching up with them. And Micah had fun playing volleyball and Texas Hold Em. Andrew is close in age to my cousin's little girl, Isabella. They are only about 3 months apart. It will be fun to watch them grow up together. I'm sure that next year we will be busy chasing these two around.
During our camping trip we had some thunder and lightning storms. It was a little too much excitement when lightning struck the campsite next to us. Thankfully there was no damage. We left Monday morning in the rain. Everything was wet. I was glad to be home.

Switching to Cloth

We have officially switched to using cloth diapers. They are working fabulously! It is acutally easier than I thought it would be. We have some wonderful friends who gave us their cloth diapers they no longer need. The diapers are called Motherease and they fit babies from 8-35 lbs. They have snaps on them, so no pins. We also have some friends who are letting us borrow their prefold cloth diapers and diaper wraps. It has been nice to be given so much, and not have to buy it ourselves. That definately helps the budget.
We did buy six cloth diapers. They are called BumGenius (don't you just love the name?) and they also fit babies 8-35 lbs. The BumGenius diapers just came in the mail on Monday, so I washed one and tried it out yesterday. It is so easy, it is almost like a disposable diaper. We will use these ones for when we are out and about, and when we need Grandma to babysit.
I feel good doing cloth diapers because I know we are saving money, and it is also good for the environment. Plus, Andrew looks so cute in them. The only downside I have seen so far is that they do make his tush bigger, so his clothes fit a little more snug. But other than that they aren't too bad, it just adds a few more loads of laundry each week and since I am staying home it's not that big of a deal.

Date with Hannah June

Some family friends of ours had a baby one week later than Andrew. Last week Andrew and I went over to Grandma's for lunch with Hannah, her mom (Ashley) and her grandma (Valerie). We had lots of fun taking pictures of them together. It is fun that they are exactly one week apart.

Here are the grandma's with their grandbabies.

Moved In

We are officially moved into our new house. We actually moved in on Aug. 1st, but it has taken me awhile to blog about it. I will upload some pictures once I actually take some. For the most part we are done unpacking, just have some odds and ends left. Our new address is 25654 46th Ave S, Kent, WA 98032 in case you want to stop by and say hi.

Family Time in North Dakota

Before Kayla's wedding we were able to spend some time with Micah's family. And Andrew got to meet his cousin Eden, who is three years older than him. He will also have a new girl cousin coming in October, we are excited.

First Flight

A couple of weeks ago we flew to North Dakota for Micah's sister's wedding. This first picture is of Andrew in the airport while we were waiting for our flight. We were a little worried how Andrew would do. But he ended up doing great! He slept most of the time, and ate at just the right times--take off and landing. He is already learning how to be a great jetsetter.

Daddy Turns 30

August 3rd was Micah's 30th birthday. We didn't get to do anything exciting since this has been such a crazy time right now. We did end up going to Grandma Galicic's and had a wonderful lunch.
